It seems the threat of rain may have been over exaggerated. It is another beautiful day out there. I had one customer tell me that he brought his boat over about the same time last year and was breaking a skim of ice on the water to get here. I don't see any ice in the near future this year! I had to get a nice autumn shot of the harbor though.

And of course a mandatory photo of the boat hauling crew just to keep them happy!

I had shown a photo of a makeshift trailer yesterday and here is what they used it for - to pick up parts from the soda blaster.

These parts are to the Jet drives we are servicing on this Little Harbor 55. As you can see, we are set up to service them and reassemble after all the reconditioned parts are painted.

The countdown continues. Although it is absolutely beautiful today, there seems to be a lot of rain in the forecast for the week. Hope that doesn't put a crimp on anyone's plans. Not mine, we supply the dinner - family has to travel. We have a lot to accomplish before the holiday although it does seem that we are much more on schedule than we were last year at this time. Not sure why that is, but hey, I'm not complaining :)

Paul is converting a trailer into a temporary flatbed to carry some large parts out to get soda blasted. We have a couple but they are filled with stuff we don't want to handle twice.

John has devised a rig to both pump holding tanks and rinse the hoses and systems with fresh water. The honey dipper was in today and the rig had it's initial run. I was in the building long enough to take the photo but the stink just ran me out.

We have the drive units from this jet drive out getting soda blasted. These are the units that go with the massive Man engines.

And speaking of Man engines, this is the one we removed awaiting pickup. We strapped it Friday to lift it into the truck.

One of our many home-made winterizing tools is the nozzle that goes with our antifreeze pump. This allows us to attach into a line and control flow from that location with the nozzle.

You may have noticed my current theme (turkeys) and the little count down at the top of the postings. It's not so much the holiday that gets me pumped right now but more the idea of having a 4 day weekend! The only downside is that I am quite positive my wife will want to go shopping on Black Friday.

It's hard to believe the tide could have been any lower today than it was yesterday, but true it is.

Doesn't look like any sailboats will be pulled today. It is  hard to get on and off boats when the tide is this low.But the wind has finally died down a bit and the water should return over the weekend.

We did an extensive XM/Stereo/GPS installation on this GB which is leaving today. I have shown bits of it here in the blog. This is the second such install we have done this fall. It is amazing how they get all this to work together - it is way beyond my comprehension. The last step was the little antenna mounted on a stubby mount.

We have one crew of owners who like the hands-on approach. Here Eric power washes his own bottom (they actually think this stuff is fun.)

Due to the wind yesterday and last night, we came in to very low water this morning. Fortunately, there were boats to put away that were hauled yesterday which should hold us until the water starts coming back in. We can then haul the ones close to the travel lift until late today.

Kevin has almost completed the Awlgrip repair on the MJM. The clear coat made the color match even better (if that is possible). You can see reflections in this sample.

More winterizing, this time an ice maker. Anything in the boat that uses water needs to be winterized. This will need to be flushed thoroughly in the spring to avoid pink ice cubes!

More gratuitous travel lift shots.

A bit breezy today, but that can't hold up the haul out schedule at this point. We are coming down to the wire for the boats that need to be out this week.

I finally caught someone actually winterizing this morning. JB is by-passing a water heater. This is done to avoid running enough antifreeze through the system to fill it up.

We had to replace a window in a GB. We usually install the frame and only slightly tighten it on the new bedding. After the bedding is set, we give it just a bit more tightening. That seems to give a better seal. Then we can plug and paint.
