Overhaul Every 114,000 Liters (30,000 gal) of fuel
- To minimize downtime and provide you with the lowest cost and highest value, Caterpillar recommends that the engine be overhauled before failure by scheduling an overhaul with your Caterpillar dealer.
*The oil change interval is based on fuel consumption. The sump capacity of 15 liters (16 U.S. quarts) will allow the maximum consumption of 9000 liters (2400 U.S Gallons) of fuel by the engine. This would be an average fuel consumption of 36 L/hr (9.6 gal/hr). Therefore, use fuel consumption as the best indicator of oil change interval. Confirm the interval with the Scheduled Oil Sample analysis or consult your Caterpillar dealer.
