Flybridge: Aft deck access is available to the flybridge in addition to the interior access from the pilothouse. Once on the flying bridge, the full size of the deck area can be appreciated. On the aft end of the flybridge, known as the boat deck, there is ample space for the accommodation of a tender, water sports equipment and life raft. None of the aforementioned is included in the purchase. Going forward, there is a moulded-in wet bar unit with electric barbeque to port and a stainless steel crane for dinghy launch and recovery to starboard. Forward of these items you will enter the flybridge seating area, which provides ample capacity for up to twelve people within a combination of moulded GRP seating and two Stidd pilot seats. All are upholstered in almond Ultraleather. The seating area of the flybridge has the added protection of a bimini top in navy blue Sunbrella, which is attached to a substantial radar arch and stainless steel frame. Stereo and lighting complete the spacious and sociable flybridge area. Decks: The bathing platform, aft cockpit, side decks, flybridge seating area and Portuguese bridge all have the benefit of teak decking, laid in the traditional Grand Banks way. Forward of the Portuguese bridge the decking is painted in non-slip deck paint, as is the boat deck. All deck areas are well protected by high rails and bulwarks where appropriate, enabling the boats' occupants to feel safe and sure-footed wherever they move around the boat whilst at rest and underway. The Maxwell horizontal anchor windlass has two anchors and chain and the ability to use rope when required. Deck storage is well catered for forward, under the forward deck seating and adjacent to the anchor windlass in two purpose-made lockers, one accommodating the anchor wash system. Ample additional deck storage space is available in all other areas of the deck. Salon: You enter the salon from the aft deck area via two substantial Freeman sliding doors. The doors are fitted with seals and clutches to guarantee water integrity. To the left of the entry point is a desk, ideal for catching up on office work, or perhaps a little navigation. To the starboard side there is a television cabinet encompassing a pop-up T.V. with remote control, a satellite television receiver and a complete Bose surround sound theatre system. The cavernous salon also includes a large L-settee with table and two occasional barrel chairs with table, adjacent to ample storage and display areas. The air conditioning vents are neatly built into the curtain valence system, adding further efficiency to the system. The salon is tastefully upholstered in beige and blue and has the benefit also of both spot and mood lighting, as required. Galley: From the salon it is possible to view the open plan galley arrangement, creating further feeling of space. The galley is well equipped, designed and functional to use, but is also the heart of the vessel. Equipment includes dishwasher, trash compactor, electric oven, two drawer / chest style refrigerators and one freezer. Storage space is ample and will satisfy the most demanding of culinary experts. Adjacent to the galley is the internal staircase to the flybridge, providing easy passage for food, refreshments and crew as required. Pilothouse: Forward of the galley, but sharing the same open plan space, is the magnificent pilothouse. The instrument ergonomics and helm position would befit a much larger vessel, with everything in its place and providing an excellent all-round visibility. To the left of the helm position is a dinette area, capable of seating up to six people and ideal for brunch and lunch alike, as well as charting and navigation. To the right of the pilothouse is an access door to the starboard side deck, again of the Freeman variety. The fully equipped suite of navionics is repeated on the flybridge station also. Engine Room: At 17 feet long and just under 6 feet of head room, the engine room provides plenty of space to accommodate twin Caterpillar 3406E 800hp diesel engines, the Onan generator, air conditioning batteries and fuel tanks. Pumps, filters and other ancillaries are easily accessible for routine servicing. This is truly an engine room which is both purposeful and enjoyable. Master Stateroom: The owner's cabin provides a private retreat with all that you would expect, including an over-sized, walk-in, cedar-lined wardrobe/closet, with bureau, T.V. cabinet and settee. The delightfully designed owner's heads and shower complete the suite. Forward Stateroom: The double stateroom is elegantly situated in the bow of the boat, with cedar-lined wardrobe and dressing area, encompassing access to an ensuite toilet and shower compartment commensurate with guest accommodation. Portside Cabin: This twin berth portside cabin also has the benefit of its own toilet and shower compartment; in addition it has adequate hanging space and locker storage space. All three cabins are accessed by forward companionway from the pilothouse. Crew's Quarters: Conveniently placed under the aft deck and behind the engine room is a twin berth crew cabin, with its own toilet and shower compartment and hanging and storage space. In the event that crew are not required this is an ideal cabin for children, which they would find practical and fun! Electronics: The boat is fitted throughout with satellite television and has televisions in all cabins, with the exception of the crews' quarters. Each cabin also has the benefit of its own music centre, with the salon boasting a Bose Lifestyle surround sound theatre system. Both helms have an array of the latest navigation equipment, comprising in the main as follows:
Heritage: Built by Grand Banks and designed in partnership with Tom Fexas Yacht Design, this world-class blue water cruiser has its aesthetic roots in the Alaskan wooden boat tradition. Today her updated raised pilothouse profile, dramatically flared bow and exceptional teak craftsmanship, is more beautiful than ever. Of course, the Grand Banks 64 Aleutian is also the beneficiary of a 30 year plus Grand Banks reputation for delivering safety, dependability, stability and advanced technology. With an extended cruising range and commanding pilot and navigational position, it is easy to see why the Aleutian is a leader in its class. Grand Banks 64-004 is available with the added benefit of being VAT free, if eligible and required. |
