56 ft 1997 Alden 56 Flybridge Express

Originally custom built by Alden Yachts for a member of a Royal family, Twilight was built with the finest joinery and attention to detail available. She has been maintained to the highest standards with an open check book policy.

This vessel's interior is gorgeous and comfortable with teak and holly cabin sole, teak cabinetry, high quality fixtures and appliances and diamond tufted leather upholstery. The interior color scheme is rich golds and browns which is warm, classy, and understated. Both the lower and upper helms are fully equipped, the upper helm deck is covered by a hard top with a full enclosure, and air conditioned as well.

Her updated CAT 3196E engines provide smooth and reliable power in a C. Raymond Hunt designed hull. With long waterline length and low center of gravity and she delivers speed and comfort even in a seaway. Wide side decks and an open foredeck plan allow for safe movement on deck in any conditions.

Twilight has a large teak cockpit that provides plenty of room for entertaining and easy access to the swim platform and ladder.

Owner's Stateroom & Head

The owner's stateroom is all the way forward and is designed and executed to perfection. The stateroom gives a warm and rich feeling from the teak furnishings, bulkheads, and doors, and has two leather upholstered settees as well. There is a queen size island bed on the center line with additional storage drawers beneath. The owner''s head is aft and to starboard, with more gorgeous teak joinery, marble countertop, stainless steel sink, and Vacuflush head. The owner's shower is to port, and is lined in marble, with an additional storage cupboard out board of the shower.

Guest Stateroom & Head

Aft and to starboard of the galley is a pantry area, and next aft is the guest stateroom with twin berths, hanging locker, and drawers. The beautiful teak joinery has been continued in this cabin with curved bulkheads and the teak and holly cabin sole. Opposite this stateroom on the port side is the guest head complete with Vacuflush toilet, shower stall, and stainless steel sink in a marble counter top. Attention to detail prevails with teak towel bar, teak joinery, and teak battening on the hull side, and high quality fixtures as well.

Galley

The galley is down and to starboard with a horseshoe dining settee to port. The "L" shaped galley features white Corian countertops with a mirror finish, Czech & Momoplac fixtures, nickel plated stainless steel sink, teak raised panel cabinets and refrigerator door. There is an extra deep stainless steel sink concealed beneath an inset Corian top. All the small appliances are hidden, and the Gaggenau cook top and convection oven are sleek and modern. The settee is beautifully upholstered in tufted leather, and surrounds a custom teak dining table with inlay on the top and drawers for tableware storage beneath. Above and outboard of the settee are built-in cabinets, bookshelves, and an extra storage area for guests.

Lower Helm Station

The lower helm is up four steps from the lower accommodation level and to port. Opposite the helm station on the starboard side is a custom teak bar cabinet with a glassware drawer, ice maker, and refrigerator. Just forward of the bar cabinet is the forward console. A retracting 38" plasma flat screen television is built into the console with VCR and DVD in the entertainment center in the main salon. A new KVH3 Satellite auto "on the go" receiver was added in 2007.

Salon

The salon is aft of the pilot area, with custom carved, leather upholstered settees on port and starboard. The yacht table is between these settees. This is a custom hi-lo teak drop leaf table, with beautiful inlay around the edges of the top. The teak cabinets on the aft bulkhead store the entertainment center to starboard, and the amplifier to port, and create attractive nooks with matching brass ship's lamps.

Cockpit

The cockpit is teak decked and is approximatley 80 square feet in area. The cockpit coaming is trimmed in high gloss varnished teak. There is a transom door to access the swim platform, and a hot & cold fresh water shower. There is a large lazarette locker for storage and service access to the steering gear, bilge pump exhaust hoses, trim tabs, storm anchor and line.

Flybridge

The flybridge is accessed from the cockpit by a teak and stainless steel ladder offset to port. There are port and starboard settees with storage beneath with a teak drop leaf table between. This table can be removed and stowed. At the helm station there 2 teak backed helm seats, and the instruments are mounted into the forward console. Above there is a custom instrument pod which houses the navigation electronics. The flybridge is covered by a custom fiberglass hardtop, with enclosure. There are 4 opening hatches in the hard top, and the flybridge is also air conditioned. See the Electronics section for the list of navigation equipment.
