2002 42' Grand Banks Europa

This is one of the last classic Europa boats built by Grand Banks. She is model year 2002 with a hull number after 1500.

A fine example of this elegant model, she is clean, beautifully maintained, and loaded with options. She has twin Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines with Soundown couplings and dripless shaft seals. There are two bunks in the guest cabin, an under counter mounted double stainless steel sink in the galley, and an additional Sub Zero refrigerator. On the flybridge there is an optional "L" settee and teak table aft of the standard seating, and an Avon 310 Rib tender mounted on a cradle with an electric davit for easy launching and stowing. On the flybridge is a new navy blue canvas Bimini and new weather cloths, seat covers, and outboard cover.

Layout

The 42' Grand Banks Europa is spacious and comfortable both on deck and below. The entry doors from the cockpit have large windows, and additional screened pocket doors for letting the outside in minus the bugs! The opening screened side windows are large, letting in alot of light and making the salon feel large and open. The optional teak and holly cabin sole with it's forward/aft lines visually increases the space as well. Entering the salon from the teak soled cockpit there are two GB barrel chairs to starboard with the entertainment center between. Opposite is an "L" settee and adjustable teak table that has a hinged leaf for dining. Forward of the salon the galley is to port and the lower helm station is to starboard. Down the companionway steps there is a guest cabin to port with 2 twin berths, drawers, and a hanging locker. Opposite is the roomy head with a large shower. The head can be accessed from amidships and from the owner's stateroom which is forward. The owners stateroom has beautiful teak cabinetry, ample storage, and a full size berth amidships. The teak battening on the hull sides increases the sense of warmth and style.

The engine room is beneath the galley and salon sole, accessed via a ladder beneath a hatch between the galley and lower helm. Flourescent lighting and teak grating the full length of the bilge increase ease of working in this area. The generator is mounted amidships aft of the Caterpillar engines. Aft and to port of the generator is an access door to the aft mechanical room where 2 of the 3 batteries are located, as well as the fresh water system and charging system, There is ample room for storage here, which can also be accessed through a hatch in the cockpit sole. This space can be locked up from below, and the access door to the main engine room can be locked from inside.

Aft of the mechanical room is a double lazarette locker with teak grates over the water tank and steering system, with ample storage for lines and fenders on top.

The flybridge is accessed via an elegant staircase on the port side of the cockpit. With a comfortable rise and angle, these stairs are safe in any conditions. The flybridge is large, covering the area of the lower deck from stern to windshield, and almost the full beam of the boat. To starboard and aft of the stairs is the mast, dingy stowage, and davit. There is an "L" settee and teak cocktail table to starboard, aft of the main seating. The main flybridge seating consits of 2 bench seats with both forward and aft facing seating. All the seating, which accomodates 12 easily, has the original Grand Banks cushions in excellent condition. The helm station is to starboard with a chart locker next to it, an electronics locker below, and a huge storage area beneath the port side of the navigation station. There is storage beneath all the flybridge seating as well. A BBQ grille is mounted on the port railing, and the life raft is mounted on the port side outside the main flybridge area.
