Why A Bow Thruster?

Sidepower features

• Specially built electric motors
  The side power electric motor is specially designed and built for this purpose. With this motor you will get full power and you do not need to fear the consumption with normal use, you engine generator will charge the batteries right back to where they were in a few minutes.
• Oil Reservoir
  The gearhousing is filled with oil that you fill through this tank. The tank should be installed above the waterline, giving the oil extra pressure. The tank is transparent so that you can easily see that you have a safe oil level.
• Tunnels
  The GRP tunnels are specially made for this purpose, with high strength and precision. There are tunnels available for all models in a variety of lengths. Steel and aluminum tunnels are also available.
• Gear House
  The gear house is made in seawater resistant bronze and with a stainless steel propellor shaft. All bearings, sealings and gears are sturdily designed and manufactured of the best materials, assuring you a reliable use for many years. The sleek hydrodynamic form of the gear housing gives a minimum resistance in the tunnel ensuring the maximum performance of the unit.
• Zincanode
  All the Sidepower bow thrusters are protected against electrolysis and corrosion by an easy to change zinc anode. A small, but very important detail.
• Propeller
  The Sidepower propellers are symetrical to give equal thrust in both directions. They are designed by experts to give maximum strength and performance in a tunnel. The twin propeller construction of the 7 HP and the 10 HP models, gives a greater thrust in a small tunnel than possible from single propeller constructions.
